Light bar for the Nomad

I found out today that Cobra does not make a light bar the the 2009 1700 Nomad. I found one from Kawasaki but don't know if I want to pay $350.00 plus for it. Does anyone know of another company that has them in the $200.00 range that's good quality.

The Kawasaki lightbar is a quality part. Look around for the best price. You should find it for 20% off MSRP. Quick and easy install. Even comes with turns already mounted on it.

I am looking at your list of accessories and wonder why you are balking at price of the Kawasaki lightbar.

Thumbs up Kawi Light Bar

There's a brand new one on EBAY from Bikesandstuffcheap for $319.95 plus $15.00 for S&H. They are located in Tuscon,AZ. I got mine from HondaEastToledo.com a few years ago. Besides these are made in the good ole U.S.A. The Kawi part number is K32001-015. The first pic is the light bar installed on my 2010 Nomad. Custom World International makes something kind of close for cheaper.

If you are mostly looking to increase your visibility to cagers though there are many cheaper options. A couple of people here including myself have got those Optronics Platinum driving lights (QH-87CD) that you can get at Wal-Mart for a steal at $20. One Nomad owner mounted them to his lowers and I mounted mine to my engine guard foot pegs. They are very bright and easily get more attention from traffic then my Kawasaki light bar. The only bad thing I hear about them is that they can start to rust after about a year or two but at that price I bought 2 sets so I am covered till 2015 at least =).

Agree that the Kawasaki light bar is very well made but the turn signals IMO could use a lot of improvement. They are made from brittle plastic that easily cracks if you tighten the lens skrews with even a moderate amount of torque and I have also had to resolder the fragile connection on the right signal twice now.

That's a nice bike in the pics. Most of the accessories with the exception of a few items were already on the bike when I got it used. (His lost my gain) I've been lucky enough to find a couple of things that someone didn't have any use for anymore, and I got them at a very good price. I'm not above trying to save a $ .Thanks everyone for their comments.

Thanks. It was so nice that a friend of mine had to buy it out from under me. His wife won't let him accessorize so he didn't want to buy a stock bike.
