Tank Protector

Maye someone can help my memory fog.

I'm looking for a tank protector for my 2011 Vulcan Vaquero 1700.

A while ago I had purchased one for my 2006 Vulcan Classic 1600 that looked like this:

Trouble is, I can't remember where I got it now. Any thoughts from anyone?

I never noticed that before. That looks like it would be kinda ruff on the paint & da nads. Wonder why they designed it like that? Who sits that far up on their tank anyhow? ...Just sayin....

I was wondering about that black tank trim piece myself. I'll know better when I remove the thing, but I'm thinking there's two options.

1) I'm hoping there's a trim piece that doesn't come all the way down for just around the ignition/gas cap.

2) If number one fails, I think getting creative with a dremel may be a workable option...

Picture of what I'm talking about...

Now, what I didn't know is, there's a second bracket holding that black trim piece on. I'm still guessing the bra will slip on under the trim piece, with a hole for the second bracket if need be.

I'll post pictures when everything is received and such.
