Need Trailer Hitch

So I have spent the last 3-4 weeks searching for a trailer hitch for my bike. 2009 Vulcan Classic 1700. I have found ones for Nomads, Vaquero's and Voyagers. I cannot find one that says they fit a Classic. Do I have to get one custom made? One site said that had to have the original bags - which I do not have.

Thanks............

It would help if you said which brands you've already checked. Denray. http://www.cyclematetrailers.com/page/page/2888028.htm

I seen that, thanks. It does say though that it does not fit the Classic, which seems to be a slightly different fit.

It aint cheap but the US dollar vs the aussie dollar may help.

Maaaate... If you're in the USA it says US$381 plus US$124 shipping? Ouch.

In your position, I'd send Joe "Chuckster" Norris Chucksters Customs | Home Page a message (or a PM), and see if he's either got a pattern for one already, or would care to use your bike as a template to fab one. He's never done anything but excellent work in my own experience, and I've never heard anything but good things about him from anyone else... Plus I think you'll save a fistful of dollars. Joe's hitches are half the price of that Ozzie outfits.

+1 on Chuckster. Joe is a great guy and has excellent prices and service from my experience. He also has a cooler rack that fits the hitch, if you are interested in that. I had him drill holes before powder coating to mount a tag holder on the backside of mine so I could have the license showing (I am going have one with tail and brake lights in the tag holder, too) when I was carrying "stuff" on the cooler rack.

Installed:
RAM Aquabox with USB Power for GPS
6000k LED Headlight & Spots; Kisan Headlight Modulator (works with LEDs),
__Brake Light Modulator, LED License Plate Holder
Longer Kickstand
Dobeck EJK 3.0
Lucky Mirror Extenders
Misc. RAM Mounts for Cup Holder, SPOT, Phone, etc.
Chuckster BAK, Trailer Hitch and Cooler Rack
Wiring for Trailer
Ray's Throttle Mod
Things to do:
Drilling Baffle Plates (Maybe)
Paint HF Tag Along Trailer to Match Bike

LET'S RIDE

Chuckster responded quickly, he does not have a pattern for a 1700 Classic...

The quest continues.

Joe lives in Jackson, Michigan, and might be able to work something out for you while you wait... How many days ride is that from where you are? About two easy scenic ones? Less than from where I am anyway, I'm sure, although I guess your weather might interfere at this time of year...

He's also a member here, though more active on the Vulcan Bagger Forums, with the user-name on both sites "Chuckster131".
