So I misjudged a turn and ended up setting the bike down, thankfully no one is hurt. One of the front crash bars ended up getting bent at the points where the bolts attach it to the frame. The only thing that appears damaged is the crash bar. Has anyone ever had this happen then bent the crash bar back and had any success?
It was bent back enough to not allow my floor board to go all the way down. I know it will be weakened, just need it to last long enough to get a replacement in a few weeks.
Last time I needed to bend a engine guard back, I used a come along winch attached to the receiver of my truck. Had someone sit on the motorcycle with both brakes on in gear and I winched it back to it's original position.
I was surprised how much effort it was to get it pulled back.
I would not take it off to try to straighten it back out. You would never get the holes aligned or the right angle again....
