Key Blanks

I just had a couple of spare keys made for my '03 EN500. In case anyone else needs some made and wants to avoid the dealership cost, the locksmith used Ilco X248 YM63. Cost me $3.00 each. You can probably find a locksmith in your area that has those blanks. Much cheaper than going through Kawasaki for the keys.

key blanks

Yep. You are correct in reminding us that it take a special blank. I went to to a good key shop and had two keys made which did not even go in the ignition when I got home. Luckily I found the second original key and don't need the two extras that I returned to the key shop for a refund. Armed with the blank specs should save folks some anxiety. Thanks again. tom

It might be worth noting there are 2 different types of key blanks for this bike that are symetrically opposite of eachother. Of course I had to have the rare type that had to be special ordered by the dealer!
