Don't count on it Worm. There are members who will always try and assume or create things in their own minds just to have a reason to feel like they were offended by someone who didn't have any such intention or reason to offend in the first place. BTW, that horse is now bones and it's still being beaten.

Careful SWVA or you just might be accused by others of not being serious and that there is no room for humor when it comes to these Forums.

Interesting thing about this...

The Supertech filters were made by Champion Laboratories. I was going to contact them to see if they were still making the filters, but labeling them as something else.

When i looked to contact the Customer service folks, i noticed that they all had 'Fram Group' email addresses. When you Google 'Champion Laboratories Fram' it appears they're under the same umbrella organization.

Maybe Fram and Supertech were/are the same filter?

When you cut them apart they were different, with supertech being having a bit 'better' element. FRAM elements are a little looser, with less pleats and letting more particles through, and some of the higher end filters doing the most 'filtering' as you might guess. (You can debate until the cows come home whether that actually matters or not, but it is what it is).

So they are different filters, but manufactured by the same company I'm not surprised. I am quite sure FRAM is aware of the poor reputation they have among enthusiasts, mechanics, etc. Right or wrong, they have a bad rap, you certainly can't deny that. It would make sense for FRAM to market a low cost filter under a different and seemingly different name though, in order to drum up some of that business that won't touch FRAM no matter what they do.

I use the K&N 303C. Yes the 'C' so all the wanna bees can oogle a chrome oil filter at the Hooter's Bike Nite. Funny how people pick out the oddest things to notice on a bike.
