Thanks for that Paul. I have a disc lock. I picked up the bike last week and it really is in cherry condition. Just never checked the steering lock out.:/
The steering lock is there for one thing only, to discourage joyriders or pranksters. A motorcycle thief comes well armed with an armada of tools that he needs to make sure he won't leave empty handed. If he really wants it , there is no saving it. Your'e only course of defense is to slow him down enough to make it not worth the extra time, or in hopes the Calvary can get there before it's long gone. A chain and good lock wrapped on the front tire will stop everyone except the guy mentioned above.
