So I want to put tires on the bike.
The stock rear size is 180/70-R15
I see people here sometimes put on a different tire
170/80-R15
From what I read here, that is for two reasons.
1. To help with the speedometer calibration correction.
2. Lower RPMs makes it more comfortable and less noisy at freeway speeds.
I am looking at the Michelin Commander II and I do see that the 170/80 is about 40 dollars cheaper.
My question is this:
Is there any downside to this change?
Is there a clearance issue on that inner fender metal piece when the bike is loaded?
Handling?
Braking?
Other?
