just picked up my 2nd 900 with the intentions of bobbing it and putting apes on it. I have been doing reading and thought I had understood the 900s to have 1" bars on them, however, when I went to jp cycles and put in the year make and model, their inventory list shows 7/8s. so what gives?
btw the new bike is a 2006 classic with risers not t-bars
cj,, well rite ther is yor problem.. jp and jc whitney are the lowend like walmart..
ez nuff just to walk over yor bike and put a caliper on em. 1" od is kinda standard 'cept on eurotrashers..
What's with all the pop-up ads??? can't read articles for this crap. I have been here since 2008 and now can't sign in because I am not a member and when I try to change my acct. someone else has my name. well guess who it is ? me.....
cj, they should work fine if yor stok cables and wires will reach. 11" mite be you can run the clutch & throttle cables behind the fork triple trees and not have to purchase longer cables.
rerouting wires? some put them inside the bars will require splice extensions. there are a dozen threads on how to do this well..
if the stock wires are long enuff to pull thru the new bars and yield enuff exposed wire to work with, I would put them first and then do the splices after where I could get good access to them. I do not like the idea of splices being pulled on or imbedded in the bar.
