+1 on this. I'm inclined to agree with others and say it's more character than soul. My bike has tons of character. But I will say this, when I'm on it, it touches my soul.

08 VN900 Custom Bragger Phase II
  • Custom 2 tone Black / Canyon Copper fade paint
  • PowerCommander V
  • Kuryakyn Hypercharger
  • Hard-Krome Sideburner exhaust
  • 4.5" risers
  • 12" Ape Hangers
  • Extended cables and front brake line
  • LED Signal and brake light converson
  • Arlen Ness Tail Dragger Rear fender w/custom molded teardrop tail light
Yes I did all the work myself, and no it isn't done yet. But it will be. Soon.

some interesting thoughts here. i always felt that its people that have soul not machines .machines just help to bring it out and make us feel the way we do.character on the other hand is something we have and gain through experiences but can also be engineered in which is why our rides handle and sounds like it does . just my 2 cents worth,or 2.5 cdn

Soul ?

Not sure about soul . But when i get off a hard days work at the boat shop , jump on my 99 , 1500 Nomad , put my feet up on the pegs and start my 30 min. tripe home . Half way home i catch my self with a BIG smile on my face . Call it what ya want . That thing makes this 58 year old feel great and washes all the bad things away .

C this thread is resurrected jmo,,,,,Someone mentioned critters havin soul,,I believe every Living being Has a soul,no matter what it is,think we inject heart and soul into our machines, love em,clean em,take care of them,Character,,,all Have different character, could be same exact bike but still different, just like people, snowflakes,no two the same.So can a bike be born w a soul? Are we alone in this universe?
All depends on what you believe

bikes do have a soul...a certain demeanor or personality.

though mine may differ from others' here, still undeniable.

carbed Ducati 900SS, Desmodromic valvetrain, extreme lightweight, exceptional handler

Honda VFR800 injected, gear driven valvetrain (the sound intoxicating), very comfortable sport/tourer

quite capable and inspiring, each move *my* soul, each in their own unique ways
