engine dies when I let out clutch in gear

New to me, have had about a month, very first problem??
Makes no sense to me!
when in N you can pull clutch and release no problem.
When in 1 and you start to release clutch engine dies?
I you release all the way quickly and engine has not stopped turning, will stay running in gear?

either the kickstand is down, or your kickstand saftey switch has gone bad.

Sometimes you can feel pretty dense!!!!!
So it works fine with the stand up
While you guys are helping
What is the switch on the right front of the frame about knee hi?
Also are there any other safety features that I should know about?(that will make it quit or not start)
Have looked at about half of the post so far in the forum.
Again Thanks ALL

AKVulcan,

What kind of bike? And what does the switch look like? Is it a toggle, push-button, etc? And is it connected to anything? Right side (throttle) of the frame or left (clutch) side?

toggle switch sounds after market. do you have hi-way lights? maybe a switch for those, or who knows what.

HAHA i am sorry, but I LOL'ed. Its a good thing to know your kickstand switch works though, dad left his kickstand switch down a couple months ago and slid it about 30 yards and cost quiet a bit of money to fix becuase the PO of the bike cut the the kickstand switch, it was fault and he didnt replace it.

And about the switch, it has to be aftermarket, either some kind of lights like Midwest motorhead said of ground lites.
