I found a Kawasaki Service manual that indicates that the serviceable range for cylinder compression is between 50-85 psi. I have checked the compression on three different 1500 Vulcans, all had compression between 150 and 160 PSI. One bike had 12,000 miles and had not been on the road for 7 years, the second has 38,000 miles ( my current ride) and the other had 70,000 miles rear cylinder 150 psi, front cylinder 120. Seems odd to me that all would be that far off of what is considered normal for a 1500 Vulcan.
Anyone have experience in this area that may be to offer some insight ?
