I don't know how much they might have changed over the years, but topspeed.com did a review of a 2006 vn1600 and rated it at 66hp. No listing for torque.

I found some specs for the 1500 classic FI at motorcyclistonline.com

Measured HP 54.6 @ 5000 RPMs
Measured torque 73.6 @ 2500 RPMS

These were measurements made on a Dyno so that is the HP and Torque at the rear wheel where it counts.

Don't expect the 1600 to be any better because they may have different cams to meet ever stricter emissions.

I think it's a strange question .
But..as far as I know..it runs a hundred miles at top speed.
Wanna go faster?
Buy some other bike.
This bike is all about character and touring..not about ultimate speed.

Do you even own a bike? Wanting to know the HP and torque of your motorcycle is not a strange question. It is a real world number that allows you to compare the ride you have intimate knowledge of with other bikes out there in the market place.
