I need to order a set of swingarm slider spools for the Vulcan S. After searching here, I believe the correct measurements to be a 10mm bolt with a 1.5 degree pitch. However, it seems that there are some who use the 1.25 pitch. As this is a very slight difference, can someone verify the correct size?
Also, please share a link to where you purchased the spools if possible and even a pic or two if you have them.
You need M10 x 1.25. Instead of ordering spools, I just went to the hardware store and bought some grade 8 M10 x 1.25 flange bolts. Thay are about 1 1/2 inches long. I also bought the aluminum low profile swing arm lift from Harbor Freight. The bolts are much cheaper than spools.
I decided to go with the Speedmetal spools from Cycle Gear. cyclegear.com/SPEEDMETAL-Swingarm-Slider-Spools]SPEEDMETAL - Swingarm Slider Spools - Sliders & Spools - Other Parts - Parts - Cycle Gear
The have a nice adapter that allows them to sit flush on the bung and not on the curved portion of the swingarm.
I’ve seen them go anywhere from 40 to 60 mm, Is there a recommended length?
