If you're using the more up and down style windshield (like the big clear ones Kawi sells) then yes. That's the style my dad has on his Boulevard, he tried it w/o lowers at first and said the lowers made a big difference.

If you're using something more like the Puig or a more angled windshield I'm not sure. I don't experience any buffering persay... but the wind noise is louder since it all hits my helmet about 1/4 way up the visor.

Just received an email from puig, they will replace my purple shield with any color I choose. I will take the Jet black one. I don't look through it and match my gloss scheme. Just have to send it to them at my cost. Luckily they are in Orlando.

I changed out my Spitfire windscreen for a Puig last week, and took it for a 50 mile ride in 35 degree temp. I really like the looks of the Puig much better than the Spitfire, and the fact that it frees up the bars by using the fork mounts. I had the Spitfire set up pretty high, and while I got some wind on my waist, it was a fairly good balance, as I could just duck my head to be out of the wind. The Puig is very different. there is no wind on my midsection what-so-ever, but my whole head and shoulders is exposed to the wind. The air flow is much cleaner off the Puig, and much more predictable. But it was uncomfortable to bend forward enough to get the wind off my face (I wear a half helmet). I'll have to ride more in the spring to decide if the Puig remains installed. It does really look nice though, and is very good quality.

Been looking at the Puig for my Vulcan S for awhile. Curious where did you find the best price from? I went back a few pages but never found any places really mentioned in my quick scan. Had no idea the Dark smoke had a purple tinge to it. I may have to go with the Black then. Not sure yet.

the only place I could find it was on EBay. I purchased the clear, but ended up getting a light smoke.

I just returned the dark smoke today.to Puig. Waiting for black to arrive. I will post pics, when I receive it. Google. 8164N I ordered my original from England. Cost 69 pounds. 86 bucks. I had a friend that works for my company in London and he shipped it to me in our daily freight shipment. I basically received it overnight. Royal mail takes 7 days to hit the States.

I'll be interested in what the Black looks like. I found the one in the U.K. but I didn't see any shipping prices for the U.S. I'll sit back and wait for your pics.
