Anyone gone smaller??

I've got an '08 1500 classic and was thinking about going to a 900LT.
I like the way my 1500 rides, just wanting something a lil lighter.
Any thoughts?

you won't save much on weight, like 45 lbs?

I was curious about weights of models so here's what I found
2008 1500 Classic 659 lbs.
2010 900 Classic LT 657.1 lbs curb (wet) weight

so going from your '08 1500 to a 900 LT is not much lighter, you probably will not notice any difference

oh, and on the vn800s, the weight is 516 lbs
so you would have a 143 lb. drop if you went to a vn800, but the last model year they made the 800 was 2006 I think or 2005, and plus the vn800 are carb's not fuel injection

Where'd you see that weight?

I've seen everything from ~490lbs to 597lbs... this one is 560:

I looked, and NADA says 516. Is there a definitive answer somewhere?

Good link! Guess the transition from my 05 800 Classic to my 16 Vaquero is a little more than I thought
